Light Houses

One early spring evening on Telegraph Hill, front room windows became silver screens. Stop-frame animation, self-made melodramas and foetal scans were among the delights on show. Popcorn was eaten and friends were made. Look out for our Christmas event.

The Cabinet of Dr Caligari with live score

As part of the New Cross and Deptford Free Film Festival we showed The Cabinet of Dr Caligari and asked our mate John Lunn to provide a suitably atmospheric score. Here he is in action with cellist, Sophie Harris and help from his Ekdahl moisturiser.

New Cross and Deptford Free Film Festival 2013

For the second year running, Cinetopia were involved in putting on the NXD FFF. 10 days of film events in SE8 and SE14 that ran the whole gamut from silent movies to bike-powered Bond and back again. Starting from scratch again with a whole new bunch of volunteer contributors was hugely exciting and we managed to stage 24 events in 13 weird and wonderful venues. In addition to our two big outdoor events in Fordham and Telegraph Hill parks we had screenings in Deptford Town Hall Council Chambers, The King of Hearts Tattoo Parlour and the old Tidemill School. The festival was opened and closed at the Big Red Pizzeria who also provided one of the locations for our opening film.
